"Support the Girls"
Olde Towne Elkhorn is proud to be a part of the third annual "Support the Girls". Support the Girls is a local fundraiser/awareness event to assist local breast cancer fighters and survivors and to bring awareness to Breast Cancer. The 2016 Support the Girls event raised over $15,000 that helped local families. The 2017 Support the Girls event takes place 12-4pm, Sunday, October 1. The day is filled with events all centered around Olde Main Street and Elkhorn Drive. Shopping and dining at participating Olde Towne Elkhorn businesses. There will be vendor and artist booths, along with several parades, and fund raising events.
The day starts with a costume pet parade at 12noon, Halloween Parade and Halloween Safety Talk by Omaha Police Department at 1pm, and a Cake Walk at 2pm. Consolidated Concrete will feature their pink cement mixer- the only pink cement mixer in Nebraska (that we know of). The pink cement mixer will be shooting out candy for the kids along the parade route. Other kid/s activities include a bounce house and games. The big events of the day will be the silent auction and a decorated bra auction. Businesses and individuals are submitting decorated bras, each with a different theme. The bras will be modeled by men, and auctioned off starting at 3pm. Bras will be on display in September at The Garden Gallery-2721 N 206th St. in Olde Towne Elkhorn.
